The Frontenac Park is a wilderness provincial park located near Kingston, Ontario. It features a number of hiking trails, ranging in length and difficulty, as well as trail-accessible and canoe accessible camping sites, typically situated in clusters. There is an abundance of wildlife in the Frontenac Park, including deer, beaver, bear, and wolves.
The pictures contained in this page come exclusively from hikes I have taken on the Arkon Trail. This trail is a loop trail (meaning it ultimately takes you back to the original starting point), roughly 15 kms in length. The terrain varies, but it is primarily wilderness, with numerous inclines, log bridges, and some swamp and marsh. Due to it's length and challenging nature it is not suited for young children, but will provide an enjoyable challenge for those hikers looking for a path less-traveled in a purely natural setting. If you're lucky you'll stumble across beaver, deer, and the odd wolf.
I have personally hiked the Arkon trail during the summer and snowshoed it during the winter and have been fortunate to have seen: |
